On the Camino, strangers become friends, miles become memories, and each sunrise feels like a gift.

Escape Details

Join Escape to Shape for a soulful journey along the legendary Camino de Santiago — an immersive and thoughtfully curated experience blending wellness, nature, culture, connection, and the joy of movement. This eight-day pilgrimage follows the most iconic sections of the French Camino, taking you through vineyard-lined valleys, medieval towns, enchanted forests, and finally into the storied plaza before Santiago’s magnificent cathedral.

Led by our two expert Camino guides, and supported by the seamless logistics and thoughtfully selected boutique hotels & restaurants that Escape to Shape is known for, this journey invites you to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect — with yourself, with nature, and with centuries of history beneath your feet.

Each day includes handpicked walking segments, meaningful pauses, inspiring landscapes, and the comfort of knowing everything behind the scenes is thoughtfully handled for you. The Camino is a deeply personal and uplifting experience. Expect moments of reflection, laughter, discovery, and connection — both with the land and with your fellow travelers.

This is not a race. It is an life impacting experience. Because as they say, the Camino begins at the door of your house, the moment you make the decision to embark on the journey; and “the end is just the beginning”.

Who This Escape Is Perfect For

Travelers seeking movement, culture, connection, wellness, nature, curated details, and a fully supported, meaningful bucket list Camino de Santiago Experience.

Passion Points

A physical journey with an emotional reward, offering space for reflection & renewal, playfulness & discovery. This is a journey of meaning, not mileage. A journey that awakens the senses through movement as meditation, offering you a chance to surprise yourself, connect with fellow travelers & reconnect with yourself. A journey of joy as we embrace Camino traditions and end each day with celebratory meals, laughter & reflection.

Please note that the Camino is for Everyone. While the route has Christian origins, today’s Camino welcomes walkers of all backgrounds, beliefs, and motivations—religious or not. It is a spiritual experience, not dogmatic. People walk for wellness, healing, clarity, adventure, connection, fitness, or simply the joy of moving through beautiful landscapes.

What To Expect

Expect to spend some time in a van each day as well travel from the Camino path to/from our hotels. Transfer times range from 20 minutes to 90 minutes.

Our guides and on the ground support team ensures that each day is fully supported, safe, and meaningful.

Day By Day Distances (in Miles) & Elevation Gain
  • Day 3: 13.2 miles. 1,335 feet elevation gain. Moderate.
  • Day 4: 12.5 miles. 744 feet elevation gain. Easy.
  • Day 5: 10.4 miles. 1640 feet elevation gain. Difficult/Steady Ascent.

  • Day 7: 12.5 miles. 1197 feet elevation gain. Moderate.

To officially qualify for the Camino de Santiago and receive a Compostela Certificate, you must walk at least 100 kilometers (about 62 miles) of any traditional route. You must also have stamps (called sellos) collected in your Pilgrim Passport (also known as the Credential) to prove you walked the required distance. These stamps are collected from various locations such as churches, cafes, and albergues that are passed along the way. Our expert guides will ensure we meet the qualifications & collect our stamps in our Pilgrims Passport.

It is important to note that our experience will be quite different from that of its Compostela-seeking pilgrims, who are required to walk at minimum the last 100 kilometers into Santiago—often along stretches of busy highway—and who typically stay in simple dormitories. This trip allows us to experience the essence and highlights of the Camino and surrounding landscape in comfort, with the region’s best hotels, gourmet meals and excellent route support each day. It’s also important to note that as we are walking on the Camino, parts of this historic pilgrimage are on paved paths, back roads or cobblestones.

Accommodations

The slower pace, relaxed approach to life and old world qualities in Spain are some of the highlights of this spectacular region and are reflected in the hotels and restaurants on this trip.

That said, service can lack a sense of urgency when compared with the service found in other parts of Europe. While the hotels we’ve chosen are some of the finest in the area (and the best possible options), they may seem a bit simpler than the typical Escape to Shape standard. The same can be said for Spanish cuisine, a celebration of local flavors which sometimes will be more rustic than what is offered in other parts of Europe.
